Unspoken Conflict
Somehow,
I know you know.
And I desperately hope to avoid the inevitable confrontation,
But I bite back the condemning words
That we hate yet hunger to hear.
So there the question lies
Revealed yet shadowed,
Known and yet unacknowledged,
A white elephant in the room.
I’m sorry for lies,
I’m sorry for truth,
I’m sorry for everything
I did and did not do.
I long for this useless masquerade to be over and done
But I cannot bring myself to admit
What you already know.
