Thunderstorm

Outside,
Rain
 f

      l
        l
          s,
Pounding on my roof
Like Riverdance performers.

Thunder
    o    l
R     l     s
Deafeningly
Like a tiger’s warning roar.

Lightning
f  L   a   S   h   S
violently,
Jaggedly slicing through the angry sky.

But I,
Untouchable inside my house,
Glance out at Nature’s tantrum
While sipping at my coffee
And laugh
At the dog,
Huddled underneath the couch,
As the tiger roars again.
