Unnatural Disaster
A thousand voices snuffed out
In a single breath of hatred.
A thousand cradle dying souls
And ask one question: "Why?"
A thousand students cannot believe
How their proud country was made vulnerable.
A thousand men shake angry fists
And swear to take revenge.
A thousand children wonder why
Their parents won't be coming home.
A thousand lovers torn apart,
Their dreams, like ashes, now scattered to the wind.
A thousand women hope and pray
That war is not declared.
Countless lives forever changed,
Stand by chaotic TV sets,
And wait,
For answers that will never come.
