I know that everyone thinks that there proposal was the best or most unique or most... You get the idea. Well, mine was the best and let me tell you why. I have known for over 2 years how I would propose to Meagan. I asked her out with a poem and thought it would be appropiate to also propose with a poem. Also, I have joked for the longest time that I wanted to get married skiing down a slope with pastor skiing backwards doing the ceremony :-) So I decided that if I couldn't get married on a slope I would at least propose while skiing. So the day came. I had Meagan over to my house, we had fun at the house and then that evening we got ready and skiied back to our cabin. I had some steak there and got a fire going in the fireplace, we had dinner and then afterword I had her read the poem I had written for her, she read the first page and then when she turned the page it was blank. I then asked her if she wanted me to tell her the rest, of course she said yes, I quoted the rest of the poem and was doing what the poem was saying, I had written it knowing where I was going to be when I read it to her and also what the mood would most likely be like. Of course she said yes at the end of the poem and then cried for about an hour. All tears of joy of course there was nothing sad about it. I told her that the poem was not finished yet as her answer was not in it. Meagan wrote her responce in the notebook and then we both finished the poem together. |
